Steven Tyler wants to collaborate with Elton John & Paul McCartney

The Aerosmith frontman, who most recently released his first solo album in country music, is now eager to record with some of his rock friends. Rocker Steven Tyler is hoping for collaborations with Elton John and Paul McCartney.

Tyler told the Today show, “I’d like to write something with some other folks, maybe Elton, McCartney. I’ve already asked Paul, he goes, ‘Well, you know, send me something if you got it.’ I went, ‘That’s not what I mean!'”

Instead of just collaborating from afar, Tyler wants to get together in person for a songwriting session. He credits that inspiration to time spent at his new home, in the songwriting town of Nashville. He said, “The spiritual side of me wants to say: So many great songs were written here, it’s in the air, but it’s more than that. The people that have written those songs live here. They write with people like me, and they do three sessions a day.”
