Ewen McGregor cast for ‘The Shining’ sequel

Should we expect to see young Obi Wan Kenobi say, “REDRUM?”  Actor Ewen McGregor, of Star Wars, Trainspotting and soon-to-be Christopher Robbin fame, was cast for the upcoming sequel to 1980’s horror classic, The Shinning.  McGregor will be playing the tricycle enthusiast, Danny Torrence, son of Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall‘s characters in the original.

Considering this Danny will be wielding both The Shining and The Force, I think the twins and BJ Bear ghosts are in for one heck of a fight.  The new film will be based on Stephen King’s literary sequel to The Shining, “Doctor Sleep.”  No release date has been set for ‘The Shining 2’.
