Texting and driving penalties increased – No more warnings

Put down your phones!  Police will no longer be issuing warnings for those who are caught texting while driving.  House Bill 4846 has been signed into law and that means if you’re caught texting and driving it will be considered a moving offense.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says at least 25 percent of police-reported incidents involve some form of distracted driving and AT&T declares that nearly 9 in 10 people engage in smartphone activities while driving.
