Don Sandburg who played, “Sandy The Tramp” on WGN-TV’s Bozo The Clown has passed away. Sandburg served as an actor, writer and producer on the classic Chicago show. After leaving the show in 1969, he would return in The Bozo 25th Anniversary Special, The Bozo Show 30th Anniversary Special, and on the final episode of Bozo: the WGN-TV special Bozo: 40 Years Of Fun.
Sandburg’s work included Breakfast With Bugs Bunny, Star Trek: The Animated Series and The Banana Splits. You can check out one of Sandy The Tramp’s costumes in Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications.
