Powerball winner shares winnings with wounded veterans

Geralt – Piabay

A 51-year-old single mom who won $343.9 million in a recent Powerball drawing announced that she’ll be giving a half million dollars to a foundation that assists wounded veterans. Lerynne West of Iowa was unpacking in her new home when she took a break to grab a slice of pizza and buy a lottery ticket at Casey’s convenience store. After she was publicly named the winner, West announced the formation of The Callum Foundation, named after her grandchild who survived one day after he was born, along with a large donation to The Travis Mills Foundation, which supports veterans and their families through long-term programs.
