One airline is providing nervous fliers with puppies to cuddle before flights

People who are nervous fliers have all kinds of tactics they use to try to get through a flight as calmly as they can, and now those traveling on American Airlines at Australia’s Sydney Airport will have something new they can do, cuddle puppies! American Airlines has teamed up with nonprofit Assistance Dogs Australia on an initiative called emBark, which will station puppies at American airline counters in Sydney Airport for customers to cuddle before their flight.

The puppies, who are training to become assistance dogs, will also benefit, with the exposure helping them learn socialization, staying calm in a hectic environment and how to navigate places with elevators and escalators.
