It’s not longer ‘ride share vs public transportation’ as one ride share is teaming up with Chicago’s train services. Planning your trip around Chicago and leaving your car at home just got a lot easier. Lyft will include Metra and CTA schedules in their app. The change comes in the wake of criticisms that ride share apps have been harming public transportation.
About the change, Producer David here at 94.7 WLS-FM says, “It’s really convenient. I take a train from the ‘burbs and use Lyft to get around in the Loop. It’ll be great to have it all on one app.”
Time will tell whether or not the addition of train schedules will drive more Lyft riders to use the CTA and Metra.
