Sears is not closing yet!

Sears has been fighting an uphill battle as of late with their filing for bankruptcy and threat of losing all of their stores.  Fortunately, the Chicago area-based Sears is not going anywhere yet.  In a recent bankruptcy auction, Sears’ largest shareholder and chairman, Eddie Lampert won, allowing the stores to stay open.  Opposing bidders intended to close the many stores and sell off all assets.  400 stores were at stake as well as the jobs of the employees that keep those stores functioning.  Lampert currently holds 31% of the department store’s stock and has been the key figure in keeping Sears alive.
