Recipe for The Moonwalk drink in honor of Apollo 11’s 50th Anniversary

50 years ago a man’s small step became a giant leap for mankind.

Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins made history by being the first humans setting foot on the moon on July 20th, 1969.

To celebrate these three heroes, there is a delicious cocktail you can make yourself at home. Joe Gilmore, the head barman at Savoy Hotel’s American Bar in London, welcomed the Apollo 11 astronauts back to earth with “The Moonwalk”. The drink may give you the “buzz” that you need to be dancing like Michael Jackson.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to fly half across the world to sip on a glass of the cocktail. All you need is

1 oz of fresh grapefruit juice,

1 oz. of orange liquor

3 drops of rose water

Champagne or sparkling wine

To prepare, simply mix the grapefruit juice with the orange liquor and rose water into a shaker of ice. After shaking, stir everything in a fancy glass of champagne and fill it up with as much champagne as you can.

Now raise your glass, dance in the moonlight, and enjoy!
