Head WAY out west to the small town of Sandwich, Illinois where you will find a massive fair complete with rides, games, food, live entertainment and much more!

Chicago German-American Oktoberfest
September 6th – 8th
Lincoln Square (Western Avenue & Leland Avenue)
Taste, hear and experience German culture at this free, annual Oktoberfest which includes the Von Steuben Parade on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Festival de La Villita
September 6th – 8th
26th Street and Kostner Avenue
Another cultural fest that features the cuisine, music and are of Mexico.  This free event will also include family activities, carnival rides and more!

Throwback Music Fest
September 6th – 8th
Gladstone Park on Milwaukee Avenue (from Elston to Peterson)
Classic hits music fans can hear their favorites at this music fest.  There will also be crafts and activities and a classic cars showcase on Sunday from 2PM to 6PM

Ribfest
September 7th
7824 Madison Street in Forest Park
They will be firing up the grills and serving up some amazing food at this free fest.  The free Ribfest includes live music, drinks and activities for younger guests.

Northern Illinois Airshow
September 8th (12PM to 3PM)
Waukegan
Head out to the ‘burbs to see a family-friendly airshow.  Don’t forget to bring your chairs for the show!  Children ages 12 and under are free.

Renegade Craft Fair

Wicker Park on Division Street (from Ashland to Damen)
This culinary and artistic fest invites you to shop from hundreds of artisans and chefs at this free and fun event.

Ukrainian Village Fest

Superior Street (from Oakley to Leavitt)
Feel like you’ve traveled over seas to the country of Ukraine when you attend this cultural event.  There will be folk dancers, music, food, children’s activities and more.

Jerk, Seafood, and Vegan Festival

Park 540 in Chicago
A Jamaican-inspired food festival that will include live music, games and more.  Kids under 12 are free.

79th Street Renaissance Festival

Auburn Gresham on 79th Street (from Racine to Loomis)
This free street fest will feature live entertainment, food, a marketplace and activities for the whole family.

Fine Art Festival

Revolutionary War Reenactment and Grand Encampment

ZooRunRun

Run through the zoo in this 5K.  Kids even get their own race with a 1-mile dash.

Scandinavian Day Festival

DeKalb Kite Fest

Lucinda Avenue and Kishwaukee Drive in DeKalb
All sorts of kites will take to the skies at this free family event.  Brink your own kite, make one at the fest or shop for one!
