Chicago is one of the best U.S. cities for bar hopping

You know what’s better than going to a bar?  Going to 20 bars!

The website Thrillist.com just put together a list of the 10 best U.S. cities for bar hopping.  They based their list (which are not arranged by rank) on the number of “cool” neighborhoods with lots of bars that are walkable.  It’s no surprise that Chicago made it on the list.  In fact, the article even states Chicago is, “hands-down the best drinking city.”  They highlight Logan Square and Bucktown as the best neighborhoods to go bar hopping in.  I do a yearly bar hop with friends throughout Jeff Park and one on Tayler Street.  You can’t go wrong in Chicago!

The top 10 U.S. cities to go bar hopping, in alphabetical order:

  1. Atlanta
  2. Asheville, North Carolina
  3. Austin, Texas
  4. Chicago
  5. Memphis
  6. New Orleans
  7. New York City
  8. San Juan, Puerto Rico
  9. Pittsburgh
  10. Portland, Oregon.
