Weekends

If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving, you won’t want to leave at THIS time…

Holidays can mean traffic, and if you’re planning to travel for Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 28th) you’ll want to plan to leave at the right time. Google Maps says the busiest day to travel is Wednesday (November 27th), and the busiest time that day around is 3 to 4 p.m. Google suggests leaving earlier that day, or waiting until around 6AM Thanksgiving morning to depart.

As far as getting home after your turkey you should know the roads are predicted to be busiest on Sunday (December 1st) at 3 p.m.– your best bet is to travel on Friday (November 29th) at 4 a.m. The AAA predicts that 55 million people plan to hit the road this Thanksgiving, driving at least 50 miles. That makes it the second-busiest Thanksgiving for road travel since AAA began tracking in 2000.
