Snug Hugs For Kids is an annual clothing drive conducted by Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops located in Illinois and Wisconsin. The drive starts on November 1st of each year and continues for a six week period.

Local Celebrity, Dr. Ian Smith, Empowers Chicago to Be Sickle Smart (Health)

Dr. Ian Smith has partnered with the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois and the Be Sickle Smart program to educate Chicago about sickle cell disease and the risk of iron overload due to blood transfusions. Dr. Ian Smith will be hosting a free event featuring educational workshops, free blood tests to determine iron overload risk, lunch, interactive presentations and children’s activities.
