Chicago Park District offers Christmas Tree recycling starting January 4th

It’s been great decor for the holidays but at some point, that Christmas Tree has got to go!  The Chicago Park District is once again offering recycling services for your old tree.  25 locations will be available for drop-off and 6 of those locations will offer free mulch.  You can find all those locations here.

The trees collected are turned to mulch which can be used to put nutrients into soil, making it possible for future Christmas Trees to grow.  Your ornaments and lights however won’t help the soil, so make sure you remove all of those before recycling!
