France is turning their wine surplus into hand sanitizer

With an enormous drop of wine exports during the pandemic, France decided rather than drinking their full built-up surplus, they might as well turn it into hand sanitizer!

Distillers throughout the country are trading wine for euros so the alcoholic beverage can be distilled and turned into hand sanitizer (which is a much more popular purchase now).

Locally, Chicago distilleries have been doing this as well, as hand sanitizer has become harder to come by.  They’ve been using high proof alcohol to brew their own hand sanitizer.
