Mayor Lightfoot says fans in stands at Cubs and Sox games is likely

The bad news is: The City of Chicago isn’t ready to let fans attend baseball games just yet.  The good news is, we still have until next month for their minds to change and The Mayor is feeling optimistic about letting Cubs and White Sox fans into Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field.

Yesterday, when Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the immediate increase to 50% restaurant capacity allotment, she also said this, “I think there will be a point sometime this season where you’ll see fans in the stands at both Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Field, which I still call Sox Park.”

According to the Mayor, the teams and city have been working together to make this happen and CBS 2 Chicago reports that the mayor has said, “I think they’ve come up with very good plans.”  There’s no doubt that would come with a number of safety restrictions and guidelines.

Nothing would say spring or summer in Chicago more than being able to watch your favorite local team IN PERSON again!
