One Chicago West Suburb was named the Safest City in the United States

Where’s the safest city in the U.S.? A study by Money Geek looked into the cost of crime per capita to determine what the safest and most dangerous cities in the United States are.

The study found that Chicago’s west suburb, Naperville, only spent $156 per capita when it came to crime. This put the town in the #1 spot for safest city in the United States.

Fellow Chicago suburb out west, Joliet, was the 8th most safest city in the U.S.

The Top Safest Cities list looked like this…

  • Naperville, IL
  • Sunnyvale, CA
  • West Covina, CA
  • Carmel, IN
  • Glendale, AZ
  • Meridian, ID
  • Provo, UT
  • Joliet, IL
  • Jurupa Valley, CA
  • Sugar Land, TX

And the city that took number #1 on the opposite end was Saint Louis, spending $8,457 per capita.

  2. Mobile, AL
  3. Birmingham, AL
  4. Baltimore, MD
  5. Memphis, TN
  6. Detroit, MI
  7. Cleveland, OH
  8. New Orleans, LA
  9. Shreveport, LA
  10. Baton Rouge, LA

Milwaukee, Wisconsin actually made it pretty high on the DANGEROUS list. They took the #13 spot.
