You’ll soon be able to sleep in space for just $792,000 a night

Outer space is cold and lacks oxygen, but it’s scheduled to get its first luxury hotel sometime in the not-so-distant future. Houston-based aerospace startup Orion Span says it aims to launch its Aurora Station in late 2021. The company announced in a blog post, “By early 2022, we will be hosting tourists, astronauts, space research, and manufacturing on board Aurora Station.”

But if you’ll want to stay at this resort, you’ll want to start saving up now as it’ll cost guests an estimated $792,000 per night. Frank Bunger, Orion Span’s founder and chief executive offer says, “We’re not selling a hey-let’s-go-to-the-beach equivalent in space. We’re selling the experience of being an astronaut. You reckon that there are people who are willing to pay to have that experience.”
