WEEKENDS/FILL-IN

About The Show

Cara Carriveau’s voice is quite familiar to Chicago radio listeners. She is probably best known for hosting middays on the legendary Loop WLUP (R.I.P.) for almost a decade, though you may have also heard her on other stations including WRCX, WTMX and WSHE. She is thrilled to now call WLS-FM home.

Besides a deep love for music Cara’s other passion is hockey. Sure, she loves the Blackhawks, but her favorite hockey player calls her “mom”. She’s been a hockey mom for her son the past 10 years and currently manages his team. When she’s not on the radio or at a hockey rink she’s likely watching HGTV pondering which home improvement project to tackle next. A big fan of live music, Cara cannot wait to get back to going to concerts and interviewing artists at major music festivals. She has emceed Farm Aid a few times, been the featured welcoming voice of Lollapalooza and has provided the phone voice and lobby announcements for the Rosemont Theatre since 1995. Her podcast “Cara’s Basement” has featured casual conversations with rock stars since 2007. Cara adores animals, boating, bourbon and being single.
