This may come to you as a surprise, but if you live in Chicago, you are paying a 9% tax on your streaming services. While the tax has been referred to as the “Netflix Tax,” the tax is imposed on every streaming service including Spotify and Hulu. The tax was brought to court and the judge sided with the city.
As an avid Netflix and Amazon Prime viewer, I say, “I’ll pay the damn tax to watch my shows!”
