‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ buzzes to top of Box Office

Ant-Man and the Wasp flew into first place at the box office, bringing in $161 million total, with $76 million of that coming from North America.

Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly and marks the 20thconsecutive time a Marvel film opened at No. 1 at the box office. Still, it wasn’t quite what observers were expecting; projections had the opener in North America pegged at between $80 million and $85 million. It’s still well above the original Ant-Man’s opening of $57 million.

Disney-Pixar’s Incredibles 2 is also still killing it, bringing in $29 million domestically, for a four-week haul of $772.2 million worldwide. Universal and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom crossed the $1 billion mark.
