Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are on board to make a movie about the true story of how a former police officer rigged the McDonald’s Monopoly game, Deadline reported yesterday (August 2nd), with the Hollywood friends getting the deal just days after the story was published inThe Daily Beast over the weekend. Affleck is set to direct and Damon to star in the film for Fox, which will tell how ex-cop Jerry Jacobson rigged the game and stole over $24 million, sharing it with co-conspirators who gave him kickbacks. Jacobson was head of security for the company responsible for generating the McDonald’s Monopoly game pieces. Deadline says that there was “ferocious” bidding over the rights to The Daily Beast story.
