Deputies round up escaped camel in Illinois

It’s not often you hear about a camel walking around freely in Illinois, but it happened on Sunday morning (September 30th.) Trent Dimas of Macon County said his parents bought the six-year-old camel during the weekend and it escaped Sunday morning by breaking through a fence. The animal was returned to her owners’ property after a chase, but unfortunately died shorty thereafter. Macon County Animal Control says the camel’s death is under investigation.
