You know when you’re a kid and you’re fighting terribly with the sibling in the backseat of the car and your mom threatens to turn the car around? That’s kind of what happened on a recent American Airlines flight from Chicago to Toronto. American Airlines flight 3284 departed from O’Hare International Airport at 5:06 p.m. on Wednesday (November 28th), but returned just 15 minutes after takeoff due to a fighting couple on board.
Flight AA3284 @AmericanAir sent back to #Chicago @fly2ohare half way through our flight to Toronto due to a passenger assaulting his wife. He refused to get off when we landed so we all had to deplane. @Chicago_Police tell me this guy is under arrest? #domesticviolence pic.twitter.com/QlsXOD8K2U

A passenger and witness took to Twitter to share a photo and wrote that the male member of the couple was “assaulting” his wife and “refused” to deplane upon landing, forcing all the passengers to exit the aircraft. However, these details have not been reported elsewhere. Though Chicago law enforcement met the flight when it landed, no charges were filed and no one was injured. The flight was delayed by about four hours.
