Boeing and FAA say more time needed for 737 MAX fix

Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration said yesterday (April 1st) that more time will be needed for the airplane maker to finish changes in a flight-control system on the 737 MAX jets that’s suspected of being involved in two deadly crashes in recent months that killed 346 people.

Boeing had been expected to complete the fix last week, but the FAA said yesterday that the company needs more time to make sure all issues have been identified and addresses, and that it will happen, quote, “in the coming weeks.” The Boeing 737 MAX jets have been grounded around the world since the middle of March, after the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines jet on March 10th. A Lion Air MAX 8 plane crashed on October 29th.
