‘Avengers’ crosses $2B mark at box office

The Disney and Marvel film Avengers: Endgame is still dominating the box office, and actually managed to cross the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office this weekend. The film has garnered $2.189 billion in just 11 days, the fastest any film has managed to do so. It is now the second highest-grossing film of all time. It surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic, which earned $2.187 billion.

Endgame, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Evans as Captain America, grabbed an estimated $428 million globally for its second weekend of release. An estimated $146 million of that was in North America.

The only film that has earned more than Endgame is Cameron’s Avatar, which snagged $2.8 billion.

Here’s this weekend’s Top 10 at the Box Office according to Box Office Mojo:

6.  “Breakthrough”, $3.9 million.  Up to $33.2 million in its 3rd week.

7.  “The Curse of La Llorona”, $3.5 million.  Up to $48.1 million in its 3rd week.

8.  “Shazam!”,  $2.5 million.  Up to $135.2 million in its 5th week.

9.  “Little”,  $1.5 million.  Up to $38.6 million in its 4th week.

10.  “Dumbo”,  $1.4 million.  Up to $109.7 million in its 6th week.
