After closing all of its some 700 U.S. stores last year, Bloomberg reports that Toys ‘R’ Us will be making a comeback for the 2019 Christmas shopping season. Tru Kids Inc. CEO and former Toys ‘R’ Us executive Richard Barry plans to open six of the stores in the U.S. by the end of the year, as well as a new online store. The new Toys ‘R’ Us stores are planned to be about one-third of the size of the old ones, and will reportedly have more, quote, “experiences, like play areas.”
