Paul Stanley sitting out of KISS shark concert

LAS VEGAS, NV – APRIL 01: (L-R) Musicians Gene Simmons, Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley of the rock band Kiss arrive at the 47th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 1, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

For only the fourth time in the group’s history, Kiss will perform as a trio. Despite scrapping their tour of Down Under due to Paul Stanley suffering complications from a flu attack, one show at least will still go on. Gene Simmons, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer will play today (November 18th) at a special benefit show on a glass-bottomed boat off the Southern Coast of Australia.

The band sets sail from Port Lincoln, Australia on board The Shark Warrior, a boat “that will allow passengers to see the sharks, who are reportedly drawn to low frequencies.” All proceeds will benefit the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
