Singer Marie Fredriksson of classic hits duo, Roxette, was confirmed dead yesterday.

Fredriksson, who was first diagnosed with brain cancer back in 2002, will be best remembered for her and guitarist Per Gessle‘s six Top 10 hits between 1989 and 1991 including the chart-toppers, “The Look,” “Listen To Your Heart,” “Joyride,” and “It Must Have Been Love” (which was featured in 1990’s Pretty Woman.)

Billboard reported, “After her initial diagnosis and treatment that reportedly left her nearly blind in one eye and with limited hearing, Fredriksson returned to the stage for a Roxette comeback tour in 2009.”

Fredriksson is survived by her husband, keyboardist Mikael “Micke” Bolyos, and their son and daughter.
