Elton John has released a new remix of his and Bernie Taupin‘s Oscar-shortlisted track, “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again,'” which serves as the theme to his biopic Rocketman and is sung as a duet with actor Taron Egerton. Elton said in a statement: “Bernie and I wanted to celebrate the nominations for ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again. I’m so happy that Purple Disco Machine was able to come to the party with a fabulous new remix. I’m a massive fan of his work.”
“(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” was also nominated for a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award. In addition to the Egerton duet, Elton has also made the Best Original Song Oscar shortlist with “Never Too Late” from The Lion King, which he co-wrote with lyricist Tim Rice.
