SO MANY places are shutting down right now from restaurants and bars to museums and entertainment locals to the offices we work in. One place that may not come to mind right now during this pandemic is your local animal shelter.
Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook is looking for foster homes and permanent homes for their adoptable pets. The shelter worries about the potentiality of a temporary shutdown due to COVID-19 concerns. Tonight only, they are waving fees for adoptions. In the event that emergency foster homes are needed they will also waive adoption fees for foster parents who decide to keep their pet. They are even encouraging foster homes by offering supplies for each fostered pet.
On their website, as of 10AM March 16th, they have 28 dogs and 42 cats up for adoption. That means they only need up to 70 homes to give these furry friends a home for a few weeks. If you have any questions about fostering or adopting email [email protected].
