Ravinia Cancels Entire 2020 Season

Ravinia, one of my favorite summertime destinations for music and also the oldest music festival in the country, has been forced to cancel its 2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ravinia has operated continually since its 1904 opening except for 1932–1935, when the park was silenced by the Great Depression. There had been more than 120 events scheduled from June 12 through September 16, including the annual summer residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Here’s one of my favorite memories of the many times I’ve been to Ravinia – hanging out with Duran Duran.

2021 is going to be a huge make-up year for all of the cancelled concerts at Ravinia and elsewhere!
