On Saturday, the Chicago CEO COVID-19 Coalition will host the ‘Sweet Home Chicago’ telethon. The show will feature appearances from many Chicago sports icons including Brian Urlacher, Ryne Sandberg, Joe Maddon, and Paul Konerko. Notably, Coach Mike Ditka and and the “Chicago Superfans,” will also be featured. Actors Joe Mantegna, George Wendt and Robert Smigel will reprint their roles from these classic SNL sketches.
The telethon will benefit several charity programs including the Community COVID-19 Response Fund; the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the 100 Club of Chicago. The event will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Chicago at 5PM and live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter.
