Miami-Dade County has created a unit specifically to enforce orders on wearing face masks in public settings, both indoors and outdoors.
The county has the most coronavirus infections in Florida, which is itself a hotspot state, and has imposed a $50 fine for a first face mask offense, $100 for a second, and $500 every time after that. Anyone who violates the ordinance more than three times will also be arrested.
Mayor Francis Suarez announced yesterday, July 21st that a task force had been created made up of 39 police officers to enforce the face mask orders.
