A man blew up his house trying to swat a fly. The Frenchman, who is in his 80s, was unaware of a gas leak when he attempted to kill the bug with an electric fly swatter. A reaction between the device and a the gas caused an explosion, destroying his kitchen and damaging the roof of his home. The BBC reports that the unnamed man only sustained a burn on his hand. He has since checked into a local campsite while his family repairs the house.
