Amazon’s delayed Prime Day set for Mid-October

Amazon announced yesterday, September 28th, that it will hold its annual Prime Day in mid-October, delayed from its usual time in July this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.  As was done last year, it will be held for two days, running from October 13th to 14th. It’s the first time Prime Day is being held in the fall, and Amazon is positioning it as a way for people to get started on their holiday shopping.

Amazon began Prime Day in 2015, and it has become one of its biggest shopping days because of the deep discounts offered.  Amazon also sees it as a way to get people to sign up for its Prime membership, since only those who are members can get the deals.
