Eddie Van Halen was actually bit by Motley Crüe’s Vince Neil in the ’80s

Motley Crüe was WILD back in the day and the late and very great Eddie Van Halen learned that first hand (LITERALLY).  In and interview with USA Today, Motley Crüe drummer, Tommy Lee, shared a memorable and infamous moment from 1984 when the band was touring with Van Halen and AC/DC.  Lee recalled the band going through a “biting phase,” when they would greet people or show love to someone through… a BITE.

So, of course one of Motley Crüe’s members just HAD to bite Eddie Van Halen.  It was the band’s frontman, Vince Neil who went up and bit the legendary guitarist’s hand.  You likely see the obvious problem here, Eddie NEEDED his hands to play!  Rightfully, Eddie and the Van Halen band were LIVID.  It almost cost Motley Crüe the tour and even got them called, “a**holes” by their manager.  Neil apologized to Eddie Van Halen and eventually the band stopped biting people…

Just another crazy moment in rock history.  R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen.
