Cash toll booths are gone – It’s all I-PASS now in Illinois

Cash toll booths closed during the pandemic to prevent spread of the coronavirus and now, the state has decided to keep them closed.  Illinois found that drivers have been successfully using an I-PASS, in fact way back in 2019, 92% of tolls were collected through I-Pass and E-ZPass instead of the cash booths.

So, if you don’t got an I-PASS yet, you’d better get one!  And, you’ll still have 14 days to pay online if you forget it at home.

One person commented, “Thanks for making this difficult for us technologically challenged.”  She said this on Facebook, meaning she was able to get online and navigate the social media website… so she didn’t receive too much sympathy for her complaint!
