It’s a good idea to check out your food before digging in. A mom from Australia shared some photos on Facebook on Monday (April 12th) showing the snake her son found in a bag of lettuce. She writes, “Check packaged lettuces carefully. Last night my son found a baby pale headed snake in with his baby cos lettuce from Aldi.”

The photos show a living snake slithering around inside the bag of lettuce, which came from the Aldi in Sydney, Australia. The type of snake found is poisonous, and Aldi released a statement saying, “We’ve worked with the customer and the team at Wires to identify the snake’s natural habitat, which is certainly not an Aldi store! We are now working closely with our produce supplier to investigate how this incident could have possibly occurred.”
