Since September of last year, Navy Pier was closed to the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  But, the president and CEO of Navy Pier, Marilynn Gardner announced in a statement that the pier will, “Reopen our spaces and safely welcome guests back to the Pier.”

WGN TV reports that Navy Pier stated they will be reopening Navy Pier parking garages, Polk Bros Park, Peoples Energy, Welcome Pavilion, North and South Docks, Pier Park (including select rides and attractions), East End Plaza, Tour boats and cruises, Sable Hotel and Select restaurants.  The gradual reopening’s begin as early next Friday, April 30th.

The Pier has also announced the return of 10-minute fireworks shows in May.  They will take place each Saturday through Memorial Day Weekend.
