If there was one thing I was not looking forward to as we return to normalcy, it’s definitely traffic. For the longest time, getting to and from the city has been a breeze… until recently.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has confirmed my suspicions that…traffic sucks again! Looking at travel times from April of last year, IDOT has noticed in many cases a doubling just last month.
Speaking from experience: what was a guaranteed 35-minute trip from work to home is now 60 to 70 minutes! I never thought I’d miss ANYTHING about the pandemic!!
What’s worse: IDOT says we should expect traffic travel times to increase by about 10 more minutes as everyone returns to traveling on the roads. Well, it was nice while it lasted!
