Chicago is one of the best cities to celebrate the Fourth of July in

WalletHub put out a list of the 100 best places in the U.S. for Fourth of July celebrations.  They considered things like public fanfare and fireworks, affordability,  attractions and activities, weather, and safety and accessibility, which includes recent COVID-19 activity in the area.

Chicago cam in third on the list, just behind San Francisco at #2 and New York City at #1 (despite it being the LEAST affordable among the 100 areas they looked at.)

Here’s the full top 10 list…

  1. New York City
  2. San Francisco
  3. Chicago
  4. Minneapolis
  5. Atlanta
  6. Los Angeles
  7. Sattle
  8. Washington D.C.
  9. San Diego
  10. St. Paul, Minnesota

Smaller cities didn’t fare so well…  Laredo, Texas ranked the lowest among the 100 places they considered.  San Bernardino, California was the second-worst, followed by Aurora, Colorado . . . and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
