Normally there is a fantastic fireworks display at Navy Pier every Wednesday & Saturday night all summer but tonight it’s been cancelled. However, there will be an even bigger fireworks display in Chicago this evening and the weather will be perfect for it! Best of all, they will be visible from multiple areas because fireworks will be shot higher up in the sky than usual. They will be visible along the lakefront from at least Grand Ave all the way to at least 55th street.

Expect lots of congestion in the city. Public transportation is recommended and there will be extra bus service along the lakefront to accommodate the crowd. After 7pm there will be no bikes or open strollers allowed along the lakefront, and because of the anticipated large crowd everyone is asked to bring along a mask since social distancing may be challenging.

Fireworks begin at 9:30pm. Happy Independence Day weekend!!
