Domino’s was already “America’s #1 pizza chain” when CFO Stu Levy announced that he wanted it to “be a dominant #1” at the beginning of the year. Now Domino’s has won the title of the largest pizza chain in the world with 18,057 locations, beating out its rival Pizza Hut, which has 17,809 locations.

Over the past decade Domino’s has doubled in size, adding 1,400 locations domestically, while Pizza Hut lost 1,000 domestic locations during the same time frame. It seems Domino’s is doing a better job of keeping up with the times, as it receives as many as 75% of its orders digitally and began using delivery methods like self-driving cars and bikes.
Meanwhile Pizza Hut just “hasn’t been agile enough with modernizations.”
