I always thought Grimace from McDonald’s was just a big, purple monster who loves greasy food and gives children nightmares.  So this is news to me…

A longtime manager at a McDonald’s in Canada named Brian Bates just won an award for Outstanding Manager of the Year.  And he did an interview where he claimed Grimace is actually supposed to be a giant TASTE BUD.

Remember that time Grimace met the future president?..

Bates says McDonald’s has never officially said so, but it’s what he’s always been told over the years.  If you look at the taste buds on our tongue under a microscope, they DO look like purple blobs.  So maybe there’s some truth to it…
