Actor Jonah Hill will portray Grateful Dead leader Jerry Garcia in Martin Scorsese‘s official band biopic. The movie is being written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, best known for American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson. 

Deadline reported, “The Dead’s Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann will executive produce along with their late bandmate’s daughter Trixie Garcia, Eric Eisner, and Bernie Cahill.”

The pair first worked together on The Wolf of Wall Street. Hill will help produce as well as star as Jerry Garcia.
