Smash Mouth introduced their new lead singer with a cover of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”

Smash Mouth has already found a new singer and his name is Zach Goode.  If you remember, Steve Harwell retired last October due to ongoing medical issues.

They debuted their new lineup by Rickrolling the Internet with a cover of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

You probably wouldn’t recognize Zach, he’s played in smaller bands and has done voiceover work for commercials.  On a fluke, he sent an email to the band inquiring about their open position.

He said, quote, “Hey, you want a guy with some bad ’90s tattoos and a dad bod?  Come talk to me.  I’m right here.  Here’s my YouTube page. “

Smash Mouth responded, and Zach got to meet with the band, and well, the rest is now history.
