The breathing tax must not be far down the line…
The Chicago suburb of East Dundee’s village board approved a 5% tax on all individual streaming apps. So if you’re living in East Dundee and you’re paying $14.99/month for HBO Max, your subscription is about to go up an additional 75 cents per month. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime… all fall under this new 5% tax.
The tax starts Friday, July 1st.
