Where can you live healthy in Illinois? You don’t have to go far out of Chicago to find the healthiest counties in the state…
County Health Rankings determined that six of Illinois’ most healthy counties are right around the city of Chicago. These were determined by average health outcomes.
The number 1 county on the list is Cook’s immediate neighbor to the west, DuPage. Other Chicago neighbors that made it into the top 10 include Kendall, McHenry, Lake, Kane, and Will.

Cook County came in 41st place for the healthiest outcomes (the highest it’s been since 2010). There are 102 counties in the state.
