Apple is finally discontinuing the iPod

Apple has announced that it’s discontinuing the iPod touch, the last version of the portable music player it still sells, bringing the iPod era to a close.

Apple first introduced the iPod two decades ago in 2001, and the first version of the iPod touch was introduced in 2007. The latest version came out in 2019.

Apple said the iPod touch will continue to be available while supplies last.
